Curb Socks
Welcome to our charming Michigan-inspired sock pattern, perfect for all knitting enthusiasts! I moved to Michigan in 1993, and during my mom's first visit, she couldn't believe the rural charm—no curbs, no sidewalks, and even dirt roads in many areas. Can you imagine? She’s a city girl, as am I, so the wide-open spaces felt like another world! Speaking of “curb”—isn’t it a funny word? It has an oddly comforting ring to it, much like the cozy feeling you’ll get when you knit these delightful socks.
This pattern is designed to knit from cuff to toe, featuring an easy-to-remember sequence that will keep you engaged and create beautiful results. The socks have a lot of “curb appeal”—not just in the name but in their vibrant, stunning finish! For this project, I used Gradiance yarn from The Unique Sheep, known for its luscious color-changing properties that perfectly echo the stunning autumn leaves in Michigan. If you're a fan of rich colors, you might also enjoy the Mountain Colors yarn, which I have plenty of in my stash!
Join us in celebrating the spirit of creativity with our "Mystery Sock" for Socktoberfest. We had a fantastic time crafting and sharing stories throughout this event, and I just completed a lovely pair for my mom to enjoy! Thank you for taking the time to explore our patterns and for looking at this one. Happy knitting!
Must knit now!
Warm regards,
Phyll
