Every winter, during the weeks of intense cold and heavy frost, the need for warmth and comfort at work becomes paramount. It was during this chilly season that the concept of a cozy poncho came to life, offering a practical and stylish solution to keep me warm and comfortable throughout the day.

The poncho is designed to be lightweight yet incredibly effective at providing warmth, ensuring freedom of movement while embracing you in a snug, cozy layer. This makes it an ideal choice for those who want to stay active and comfortable during the winter months.

Size: This versatile poncho pattern is available in two sizes: regular and large. The neck circumference measures 25(28)” / 63(71)cm, making it easy to slip on over your favorite winter outfit. The length of the poncho is adjustable, allowing you to customize it based on your preferences. Additionally, if you wish to modify the fit, you can easily do so by selecting a different needle size or altering the yarn weight, with corresponding needle adjustments for the best result.

Level: The Daggus poncho is crafted in the round, making it a great project for those with basic knitting skills. You will need to be familiar with basic increases and decreases to successfully create this stylish winter accessory.

Yarn and Gauge: You will need approximately 1100 - 1300 yards / 1000 – 1200m of DK weight yarn to complete this poncho, ensuring you meet the gauge of 19 stitches and 27 rows in stockinette stitch, which equals 10x10cm / 4x4”.

For my own version of the poncho, I used 530g of Garnstudio Drops Lima (65% wool, 35% alpaca), which translates to 11 skeins or 1160 yards / 1060m. This yarn is not only warm but also soft against the skin, enhancing the overall comfort. The finished poncho measures 20” / 50cm deep, which includes both the body and the final ribbing, making it the perfect cozy essential for winter wear.

Explore the joy of knitting this Daggus poncho pattern and stay stylishly warm this winter season. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced knitter, this pattern promises satisfaction and warmth in every stitch!
