Dandelion Flower Pinafore Dress
Introducing our charming pinafore dress knitting pattern that beautifully blends two of my favorite elements: vibrant flowers and classic dungarees! Perfectly designed with my daughter in mind, this pinafore dress has quickly become her favorite outfit. Not only does it look adorable, but it is also incredibly comfortable thanks to the stretchiness of the yarn, allowing for ease of movement as children play and explore.
The accompanying picture showcases the dress in two sizes: the 12-month version in a rich bordeaux color and the 18-month version in a soft sand hue, both crafted from different yarns for a unique look. This lovely pinafore dress is knit in a bottom-up design, making it a fun and engaging project. For the 18-month size, we used Drops Puna, a fantastic yarn that enhances the overall quality and feel of the dress.
Sizes Available: 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months—featured in the pictures are the 12-month and 18-month sizes. Finished Measurements: The measurements for each size are as follows: 6 months for babies measuring 68 to 74 cm tall, 12 months for those between 74 to 80 cm tall, 18 months tailored for babies from 80 to 86 cm, and 24 months for those measuring 86 to 92 cm tall.
Materials Needed: You'll require Garnstudio Drops Cotton Merino yarn (50 g/1.8 oz, 110 m/120 yd, 50% wool / 50% cotton): approximately 90 g for 6 months, 96 g for 12 months, 105 g for 18 months, and 110 g for 24 months, totaling 194 m for 6 months, 205 m for 12 months, 225 m for 18 months, and 235 m for 24 months of DK yarn in color 7 Bordeaux.
Knitting Needles: Use a 4 mm (US 6) circular needle, either 40 cm (16”) or 60 cm (24”). Adjust the needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge for the best fit. Additional Tools: You’ll also need 2 stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, a tapestry needle, and 2 buttons to complete this fantastic project.
