The unique cable-swatch design on this hat draws inspiration from the vibrant goo that encases portals to the Upside Down in the popular Netflix series ‘Stranger Things.’ Naturally, I had to name this stunning piece ‘Demogorgon’! This hat is ideally crafted using small skeins of exquisite yarn; for my version, I chose a beautiful hand-spun yarn that I received as a birthday gift. I’ve also created another variation using Lichen & Lace worsted yarn, which surprisingly knits up more like a DK weight. This versatile pattern is adapted from the ‘laser cables’ swatch by Lynne Barr; I reworked it specifically for knitting in the round with decreases to enhance its structure. Lynne Barr's stitch dictionaries are my all-time favorite resource for knitting inspiration, and her innovative techniques greatly influenced this design!
