Detta Shawl - knitting pattern

Detta Shawl

$5.95

This beautifully designed shawl was inspired by the generosity and trust provided to me by Backyard Fiberworks at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. With delightful mini skeins to showcase, I felt compelled to craft a piece that highlights the vibrant colors and textures of these wonderful yarns. After indulging in an entire season of Mad Men and conducting extensive research on vintage knitting patterns, I chose to create a stunning triangular shawl featuring paired waves, skillfully worked with garter stitch short rows.

The construction method for this shawl is divided into three sections: the main triangle and the right and left sides. You’ll find that the intuitive short row technique used throughout is easy to master, making this shawl perfect for knitters of all skill levels. You can easily substitute any short row method you prefer. The pattern is clearly written with basic wrap and turn (w&t) instructions to guide you along the way.

The colorful waves of this shawl would look spectacular in a single solid color, a long gradient, or by utilizing at least 15g each of those leftover yarn scraps you've been saving for the perfect project. This design not only offers versatility in color choices but also provides an excellent way to showcase the unique qualities of various yarns.

Blocked Gauge: 16 stitches x 28 rows in garter stitch = 4 inches/10 cm

This shawl pattern has been rigorously tested by experienced knitters: emailhyu, qasiaraine, rcpeters, Krityum, maggieone, aleenknits, arzucarolina, and SarahBowen, ensuring its clarity and accuracy.
