Discover one of my favorite hat designs! This stylish and playful hat may be simple in structure, but the vibrant color work truly adds a unique flair and makes it an enjoyable knit.

Important Note: Our Back 40 sport weight yarn is comparable to fingering weight yarn. For this design, I held two strands doubled throughout the entire hat to achieve a lovely worsted weight. The gauge is 5 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch. Feel free to use any worsted weight yarn that meets this gauge for fantastic results! Alternatively, you can hold two strands of fingering or sock weight yarn together to obtain the same thickness.

To knit this hat, you will need approximately 100 yards each of a Main Color and a Contrast Color in worsted weight yarn (note that less Contrast Color yarn is required). This makes it a perfect project for stash busting with leftover yarn!
