Don't Cross The Streams
Green and purple are two of my favourite colours, and I adore them in all their stunning shades! When these vibrant hues come together, they truly make my heart sing! During a delightful conversation with Petra, the talented dyer at Undercover Otter, I shared some Pinterest photos showcasing the beautiful combination of green and purple. Inspired by our discussion, she created these unique colourways that perfectly capture this enchanting duo! Interestingly, green and purple also evoke nostalgic memories of Ghostbusters for Petra, which adds an extra layer of charm to this project. Consequently, I designed the knitting pattern 'Don't Cross The Streams' to celebrate this creative fusion.
This beautiful sock pattern is worked from the cuff down using innovative mosaic colourwork techniques. One of the standout features of 'Don't Cross The Streams' is that only one colour is used on each row, which means there are no floats to deal with—ideal for knitters seeking a stress-free experience! Additionally, the pattern incorporates slipped stitches to form a captivating cabled stitch design that runs along the front of the leg and the top of the foot. For added convenience, the sock features an afterthought heel, allowing you to maintain the seamless rhythm of the intricate stitch pattern while knitting. To finish it off, 'Don't Cross The Streams' includes a rounded toe for enhanced comfort when wearing your gorgeous new socks. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned knitters, this pattern brings together elegant design and vibrant colours in a truly unforgettable way.
