Doodlebug
Introducing the reversible shawl knitting pattern, designed to be worked top-down and from the center out. This unique shawl alternates between cozy garter stitch and delicate eyelet sections, culminating in a stunning lace edge that is knitted sideways. Whether you're a seasoned knitter or a beginner, this pattern features both written instructions and charts, making it accessible for knitters of all skill levels.
The smaller version of the shawl requires just one hank of fingering yarn (approximately 400 yards), while the larger version beautifully combines two hanks, giving you options depending on your project needs. Please note the importance of gauge: it's highly recommended to go down a needle size rather than risk running out of yarn, ensuring your shawl turns out just right.
The title of this pattern holds special significance for me. Seamus Doodlebug was the beloved, mischievous cat of the yarn store owner who supported my journey in launching my designs. Sadly, he passed away last fall, and I wanted to honor him by creating this piece in his memory. This shawl represents both beauty and the cherished moments we share with our furry friends.
