Dragon Scarf
This stunning dragon scarf is inspired by traditional Japanese design, offering a unique touch to your knitting collection. Crafted using double-knit techniques, this scarf features a reversible pattern that allows for versatility in style. The comprehensive pattern includes detailed charts for both stranded and double-knit styles, showcasing the intricate dragon design and its complementary background. Additionally, you'll find clear written directions for creating the double-knit patterns, perfect for knitters of all skill levels.
When using lace-weight yarn and 2.25mm needles, this beautiful scarf measures approximately 31.75 cm in width. If you desire an even wider design, consider using a heavier yarn or larger needles to achieve your desired look. A 2-stitch garter border adorns each side of the scarf. While you can choose to skip this border if you prefer, it won't significantly reduce the scarf's overall width.
The yarns I selected for this project come in noticeably different weights, so for a smoother knitting experience, you might opt to use two colors of the same yarn. For this pattern, I utilized an entire skein of Purl Soho’s luxurious Cattail Silk (600 yds) in the serene Flower Field Gray. Additionally, I incorporated around 620 yards of Red Fish Dyeworks Spun Silk 20/2 in PB13A, a deep blue-gray hue that perfectly complements the dragon design due to its use in both borders.
This dragon scarf pattern is not only a beautiful project but also an excellent way to hone your knitting skills. Perfect for gifts or personal use, this scarf is bound to become a cherished accessory in your wardrobe. Download the pattern today to start your next knitting adventure!
