Dreaming of a Sunset Shawl
During my designing process, I often picture the final design vividly in my mind before I even sit down to write out the initial knitting pattern. Once that’s done, I then seek out the perfect yarn to match and bring my vision to life.
This time, I discovered a stunning yarn featuring shades of pink, purple, and orange, which instantly transported me to another place—a vibrant sunset.
As I relax on the steps at the back of my house, I find myself captivated by the breathtaking sunsets, especially as we transition from spring into summer. The sky displays a mesmerizing array of colors, each more vibrant than the last!
This shawl is designed to showcase the yarn as the focal point, allowing its beautiful hues to truly shine. The intention is for the yarn to take center stage, ensuring that its full effect is beautifully highlighted.
I opted for a striped design that reflects the enchanting colors of a sunset, letting them flow and blend across the fabric of the shawl. The raised colored stripes are set against a soft, plain pink background, evoking the delicate pink haze that often surrounds a breathtaking sunset.
For this masterpiece, I used 691 meters of Colour A and 550 meters of Colour B. The sample shawl was knit using Nako Angora Luks and Nako Angora Luks Color, while my dedicated testers created their versions with Scheepjes Whirl and Whirlette, bringing their own unique flair to the pattern.
If you’re looking for a knitting project that transforms stunning yarn into a beautiful piece that captures the essence of a sunset, this shawl pattern is just for you. Immerse yourself in the process of knitting while enjoying the beauty of color and design!
