Dunedin shawl
When designing this unique shawl, my goal was to create something that stands out with its innovative body shaping technique. I combined short rows and decreases to craft a shallow half-circle shape that not only offers an engaging knitting experience but also results in a garment that is incredibly easy to wear. The shawl's border features a beautifully symmetrically-centred cable design inspired by one of my favorite Celtic knots. The sinuous lines of the cable evoke the image of rolling waves, making it a perfect match for the marine hues of the yarn used. This blend of creativity and comfort is sure to make this shawl a beloved addition to your wardrobe.
Additionally, I have included a larger semi-circular version of the shawl (not pictured) that showcases body shaping achieved solely through decreases. This larger size requires 2 x 100g skeins of 4-ply yarn, while the smaller size featured in the image uses just 1 x 100g skein of 4-ply yarn. Both sizes offer versatile styling options, allowing knitters to choose the one that best fits their preferences and yarn stash.
