Edith Mittens
**2022 UPDATE**
This updated knitting pattern features a new tension and sizes to ensure a better fit, addressing feedback from knitters on Ravelry about the original mittens’ sizing. The original mittens (as shown in the accompanying image) were made with a yarn that has since been discontinued. To enhance inclusivity, we've introduced an extra size—now listing Size S, while the original L has been upgraded to XL.
The Edith Mitts and Mittens were initially designed using the lovely Solid Aran BFL yarn from A Stash Addict. However, I have successfully crafted a pair using Cascade 220, which performed exceptionally well, making these mittens not only warm but also remarkably durable. Consequently, Cascade 220 is now our recommended yarn for this pattern.
Originally intended solely for mittens, the design evolved as I realized how delightful the mitts turned out. So, I've included detailed instructions for both the mitts and mittens in this pattern. Whether you prefer fingerless mitts or full mittens, you’ll find the instructions clear and easy to follow.
This project is ideal for a weekend knitting session or a cozy day spent indoors, as both the fingerless mitts and the mittens knit up quickly, perfect for those who enjoy a gratifying crafting experience.
Yarn Quantities
For the Fingerless Mitts, you'll need approximately 52g (57g:65g:73g) of yarn per pair. For the full Mittens, the yarn requirement is around 56g (63g:71g:81g) per pair.
With these fantastic options and updated features, the Edith Mitts and Mittens pattern is not only practical but also a must-have addition to your knitting collection. Get ready to enjoy a quick and enjoyable knitting experience!
