Emiliana Socks
Introducing our stunning two-colour socks featuring a captivating graphic mosaic motif that creates an eye-catching colourplay on the leg. These vibrant socks are inspired by my previous design, the Emiliana shawl, and beautifully showcase the artistry of knitting. Perfect for knitters of all skill levels, these socks are worked cuff-down in the round using the magic-loop method, offering a seamless and enjoyable crafting experience.
The innovative technique of mosaic knitting serves as the foundation for these socks, allowing you to create intricate patterns using slipped stitches and only one colour at a time. This makes it an accessible colourwork method that yields fascinating and dynamic results, making your knitting project both enjoyable and rewarding.
This pattern includes fully written instructions as well as charted guidance for the mosaic design, so you can choose the format that best suits your knitting style and preferences. Whether you are a beginner venturing into colourwork or an experienced knitter looking for a new challenge, I hope you find joy and satisfaction in this pattern!

These unique socks are designed for fingering weight sock yarn in two contrasting colours, allowing you to express your creativity in a variety of ways. For the sample, I used Malabrigo Yarn Ultimate Sock in the beautiful colourways Wabi Sabi and Whole Grain, which complement each other perfectly for a stunning visual effect.
For optimal results, the gauge is 32 stitches and 48 rounds, equaling 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ in stockinette stitch. Be sure to use 2.25 mm / US 1 circular needles to achieve the best fit for your socks. Dive into this enjoyable project that not only results in cozy, wearable art but also enhances your knitting skills through the magic of mosaic techniques!
