Fairy Princess for AG , Gotz Dolls
Introducing my delightful design for a short Fairy Dress, complete with adorable panties, enchanting wings, charming shoes, and a stunning tiara—perfect for any little dreamer! This knitting pattern will transport you into a world of whimsy and creativity, allowing you to craft a unique outfit that your child will adore.
DESIGNER’S NOTES: The enchanting skirt of this dress features a beautiful construction made up of five petals that seamlessly join together at the lower waist, creating a whimsical silhouette. The bodice and sleeves are skillfully knitted in one continuous piece, enhancing the overall design's aesthetic. For added convenience, the dress incorporates three buttons as a stylish back closure, making it easy to put on and take off.
The wings are a standout feature, designed with both a large and a smaller petal that are joined together. At the center of each wing, there are buttonholes at both the top and bottom edges. This unique design allows the wings to attach securely to the buttons on the dress, enabling easy detachment for separate washing—a practical touch for busy parents!
This pattern also offers two variations for the bodice of the dress: one showcases a lovely waist with a patterned stitch, while the second option employs self-patterning yarn for an effortlessly beautiful look. Whether you choose the classic stitch or the vibrant self-patterned option, this Fairy Dress will surely delight.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: For this project, you will require any Double Knit yarn or yarn classified as weight 3. I personally used Stylecraft Special DK (100 gm x 1), King Cole Cosmos (about 10 - 12 gm), and Patons Fab (25 gm x 1 skein for the wings and tiara). My tester even explored the lovely Baby Bee Sweet Delight Baby and Premier Yarns Enchant Disco Ball for vibrant results.
- For the waist and bodice of Option 2, I utilized King Cole Splash D.K (about 25 - 30 gm), with the panties included.
- Size 3.50mm knitting needles are recommended for knitting the skirt piece, alongside either two double-pointed needles or a circular needle for forming the hem of the sleeves.
- You will need two sets of double-pointed needles sized 3.50mm for transferring the wings.
- Don't forget three buttons for the back closure!
- A tapestry needle will also be essential for weaving in ends.
With this Fairy Dress pattern, you can create a magical outfit that fuels imagination and encourages play. Dive into this knitting adventure and watch as your little one transforms into a fairy princess in no time!
