Feeling Beachy
Introducing the Crescent Shawl knitting pattern, a beautifully designed piece that is worked from the top down and finished with a charming knitted-on border. This shawl is inspired by my love for beach walks, reminiscent of treasured family moments spent by the shore. Each stitch has been thoughtfully crafted to capture the essence of the beach, featuring a broken seed stitch pattern that mimics the soft sand beneath our feet, complemented by a simple, elegant knitted-on border that represents the gentle ebbing waves.
With final measurements of 68” wingspan and 17.5” deep, this crescent shawl is perfect for adding a touch of coastal charm to any outfit. Whether you're wrapping yourself in its warmth during a breezy evening or showcasing it as a fashion statement, this shawl is adaptable for all occasions.
For this project, you will need 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn. I used Handmade By Zan Super Sock, a delightful blend of 85% superwash merino and 15% nylon. The main color (MC) requires 1 skein, totaling 436 yards/100 grams in the lovely Sandcastle colorway, while the contrasting color (CC) consists of 2 skeins, with the sample using approximately 125 grams/547 yards in the enchanting Mermaid Tale colorway.
This Crescent Shawl pattern is perfect for knitters of all skill levels looking to create a stunning accessory that echoes the beauty of nature. Enjoy the relaxed knitting vibe as you bring this piece to life, capturing the essence of sandy shores and ocean waves in every stitch.
