Fenella
If you’re like many knitters, you probably have a delightful collection of single skeins of sock yarn tucked away in your stash. The Fenella pattern is the perfect knitting project to help you creatively use up some of that sock yarn. By selecting three different skeins, you can blend colors and textures for a unique and beautiful finished piece. Remember, the skeins don’t have to match in brand or fiber content—just ensure they have a similar thickness to maintain a consistent gauge throughout your work.
Materials Needed for the Fenella Pattern:
- C1 - La Bien Aimée MCN Light: This luxurious yarn is a 4ply blend consisting of 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, and 10% nylon, providing both warmth and softness. One skein includes approximately 400m (437yds) per 100g. Shown in the shade: Confetti Cake.
- C2 - Raincity Knits Fingering Weight/Sock: This vibrant 4ply yarn is made of 75% superwash wool and 25% nylon, ensuring durability for hand-knit projects. Each skein contains around 423m (463yds) per 100g. Shown in the shade: Heliotrope.
- C3 - Hedgehog Fibres Sock Yarn: A favorite among many knitters, this 4ply sock yarn is composed of 90% superwash merino and 10% nylon for extra strength. It offers 400m (437yds) per 100g. Shown in the shade: Jelly.
Additional Supplies:
To create the Fenella design, you’ll need a 4mm (UK 8/US 6) circular needle with an 80cm (32in) length. This size is ideal for working in the round, allowing you to produce a seamless garment or accessory without the hassle of even seams.
