Fingering Pleated Gloves
Skill Level: This knitting pattern is designed for those with advanced beginner to intermediate skills. It is written for knitting in the round, so you must be familiar with casting on and using circular needles. For your convenience, I provide a helpful link to a YouTube video that covers the "adventurous section" of the pattern, making it easier for you to follow along.
This unique pattern features lovely scrunched knits known as pleats. The design creates a charming effect that looks as if your gloves are scrunched up around your wrist, adding both style and warmth. The scrunch effect is expertly integrated into the pattern, making it not only visually appealing but also fun to knit. I truly hope you enjoy creating this project as much as I enjoyed designing it!
Materials Needed:
- 3mm (US 2) and 3.25mm needles
- Circular needles (choose between Magic Loop or double-pointed needles based on your preference)
- A partial skein of fingering weight yarn (I used Haystacks by Yarn Cafe Creations: One 100-gram skein, which contains 437 yards.)
- The yarn base is Biscotti Sock, composed of 85% Superwash Merino Wool and 15% Nylon, providing a soft and durable fabric (437 yards, 100 grams, 4-ply)
- 3 stitch markers (These will help you mark specific rounds, making it easier to keep track of your progress).
Whether you are looking for a new challenge or a cozy project to keep your hands busy, this pattern is perfect for you. Get ready to create a beautiful pair of gloves that showcase your knitting skills, while providing you with ample warmth and style. Happy knitting!
