Fingge

$6.00

These delightful slippers are like wearing handmade sheep on your feet—soft and cozy little clouds of comfort! Perfect for keeping your toes warm during those chilly evenings, these slippers are designed with both comfort and style in mind.
Crafted in one seamless piece, the sole is knitted back and forth and is HEAVILY thrummed to provide an extra layer of cushioning, making each step feel like walking on air. The sides are expertly worked in the round, while the instep is knitted back and forth with a few shortened rows that gracefully elevate the back of the slipper, leaving the front lower for easy slip-on access. Enjoy the luxurious feel of these slippers, whether you're lounging at home or enjoying a cozy night in!
By the way, 'Fingge' simply means 'slippers' in Swiss German, my native tongue, adding a unique cultural touch to your knitting project!
Here’s to crafting warm toes for everyone, with handmade comfort that stands the test of time!

Materials
Yarn

1(1, 2) skein(s) of Briggs & Little ‘Heritage’ (100% Wool, 215 yds/197 m per 4 oz/113 g)
165(200, 240 yds) / 150(185, 220) m

Roving
For additional texture and warmth, incorporate Malabrigo ‘Nube’ (100% Merino, unspun wool roving 4oz/113 g). The sample used 1 skein of Briggs & Little in Mulberry and 3/4 braid of Malabrigo Nube in Archangel, creating a beautiful and unique color combination.

Needles
You will need 2 US Size 6 (4 mm) 24 or 32” circular needles, or your preferred method for working small circumferences in the round. Make sure to choose a needle size that allows you to obtain the perfect gauge for your slippers. This project is not only practical but also an ideal way to showcase your knitting skills!

Whether you're making these slippers for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for someone special, they are a perfect blend of creativity and coziness. Join the joy of creating your own ‘Fingge’ and let your feet relish in the warm embrace of handmade woolen delight!
