Fish Mitts

$4.54

Introducing our exclusive mitts pattern, specially designed for The Net Loft Fiber and Friends Knitting Retreat, held in the picturesque town of Cordova, Alaska—the gateway to the iconic Copper River Salmon Run.

In Cordova, abundant fish populations contribute to its charm, complemented by stunning natural scenery. However, the true essence of Cordova lies in its vibrant community. Let’s celebrate the spirit of No Road Cordova!

These stylish mitts are available in two sizes, achieved simply by adjusting your gauge for a perfect fit.

Yarn Requirements:
For Size S: We recommend using Snow Capped Yarns from the Old Salt Collection, specifically Egg Island Fingering. This exquisite yarn features a blend of 75% Corriedale Wool and 25% Nylon, and is packaged in substantial skeins of 112g/434yds. To complete this design, you will need 1 skein each of the Main Color (MC) Stormy Seas (a beautiful blue) and Contrast Color (CC) Sea Change (a vibrant green). You can find this fantastic yarn at The Net Loft. For Size S, you will need approximately 125 yards (115 meters) of MC and around 70 yards (64 meters) of CC.

For Size L: We suggest using Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight yarn, made from 100% real Shetland Wool. Each 25g skein provides 125 yards (115 meters). You will need 1 skein each of MC - #27 (a lovely grey) and CC - #71 (a fresh mint).

Both sizes allow you to showcase your creativity while honoring the beauty and craftsmanship of Alaskan knitting traditions. Craft these mitts and experience the joy of knitting inspired by nature’s wonders as well as the tight-knit community spirit of Cordova!
