Fluxion
Introducing the beautifully designed Fluxion Socks, featuring an attractive cable pattern on the instep. This stunning design is both engaging and simple enough to complement those lovely, uniquely dyed skeins of yarn in your collection. Knit from the toe up, these socks utilize the favorite shadow wrap short row heel, offering comfort, flexibility, and an excellent fit.
Yarn Requirements: You will need approximately 190 (215, 240) yards / 174 (197, 219) meters of fingering weight yarn to complete your pair of Fluxion Socks. We recommend using Knitologie Dewie, which consists of 65% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, and 10% Tencel. Each skein offers 400 yards (366 meters) at 100 grams, making it a perfect choice for this project. For the sample pair, ½ skein in the beautiful colorway Calatrava was used for the size fitting an 8” / 20 cm circumference.
Gauge: Achieve a gauge of 32 stitches and 40 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch using the larger needles for optimal results and a perfect sock fit.
Tools You'll Need: Gather your supplies, including Size 1 (2.25 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles, or the size necessary to meet the gauge. You'll also need a Size 0 (2 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles, which should ideally be one size smaller than your gauge needle. Additional tools include a stitch marker, a cable needle (optional), a tapestry needle for weaving in ends, scissors, and a measuring tape for checking your progress.
Finished Measurements: The Fluxion Socks come in three circumference sizes: 7” (18 cm), 8” (20 cm), and 9” (23 cm). You can easily adjust the length to suit your preference, allowing for a customized fit that caters to your personal style.
