Introducing our beautifully designed open summer baby cardigan, perfect for warm weather! This charming cardigan features short sleeves and intricate lace butterflies adorning the body, with one delicate butterfly decorating each sleeve. It’s a seamless knit pattern, expertly crafted flat (back and forth) from the top down, and constructed with stylish raglan sleeves. For added ease and comfort, the sleeves are knitted in the round.
**Available Sizes:** Our cardigan pattern comes in a variety of sizes to fit your baby's chest measurements: 0-3 months / 16”, 3-6 months / 17”, 6-9 months / 17.5”, 9-12 months / 18.2”, 12-18 months / 19”, and 18-24 months / 20”. This diverse range ensures you can create the perfect fit for your little one!
**MATERIALS REQUIRED:** To bring this lovely baby cardigan to life, you will need fingering/4ply yarn, with 50 g providing approximately 155 m. Depending on the selected cardigan size, you will require between 1 to 2 ½ skeins of yarn.
**KNITTING GAUGE:** To achieve the perfect fit, maintain a gauge of 27 stitches and 34 rows for a 10 x 10 cm (4” x 4”) swatch in stocking stitch—knit one row on the right side and purl one row on the wrong side. We recommend using 3.5 mm needles for the best results.
**NEEDLES:** You will need 1 x 3.5 mm (US4) long circular needle to complete this project.
**NOTIONS:** Don’t forget to gather additional notions essential for your knitting journey, including a tapestry needle, stitch markers, and optionally, a crochet hook. You will also need 3 flat buttons (10 mm) x 2, stitch holders or scrap yarn, sewing thread with a needle, and a pair of scissors for finishing touches.
