Fooler A Faker
“You’re a fooler, a faker, a little heartbreaker." - Hank Thompson
This stylish hat pattern is a brioche-free version of my beloved Heartbreaker design, created to achieve a similar look through a clever gauge change and double stranding technique. I like to call this innovative approach "brifauxche" (don’t you think that has a nice ring to it?). While it might not catch on, it certainly captures the essence of what makes this pattern unique!
The hat is designed to comfortably fit a head circumference of approximately 21-22 inches—perfect for a wide range of wearers! Plus, it’s stretchy, ensuring a snug but comfortable fit. You can choose between two stylish variations: a less slouchy option in pink or a more slouchy version in green, allowing for customization based on your personal style.
Before you begin, you’ll need your yarn wound into a center pull ball, which helps avoid tangling and makes the knitting process smoother. You can achieve this using a yarn winder—check with your local yarn store, as many offer this service—or do it by hand if you prefer a more hands-on approach. Be sure to create a nice, neat ball; any tangles that occur will only amplify into chaotic disaster while you knit! Alternatively, you can choose to wind your yarn into two separate balls for easier handling.
Get ready to express your creativity and add this beautiful hat pattern to your collection. Perfect for gifting or keeping for yourself, this hat is sure to become a favorite accessory in your wardrobe!
