For Jane Beret and Mittens
If you love this unique knitting pattern, please consider supporting a worthy cause by donating to the For Jane fund at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/ForJane. Your contributions will aid research into epilepsy and help raise awareness about SUDEP – Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.
Last year, the world lost a vibrant young woman named Jane, who was just 24 years old. Jane was not only a talented traveler but also a kind and outgoing soul who made friends wherever she journeyed. She brought joy to everyone who knew her, and her absence is deeply felt by friends and family alike.
Jane suffered from epilepsy throughout her life but managed to control her condition with medication and lived a seemingly healthy life. Tragically, neither she nor her family were informed that even with proper health management, she could be at risk for a fatal outcome. In the wake of her untimely passing, Jane's family is dedicated to raising awareness about SUDEP, as many individuals living with epilepsy, like Jane, may not fully understand the dangers associated with their condition. If you’d like to learn more about their important campaign, please visit www.forjane.co.uk.
I have had the privilege of knowing Jane’s family for over 30 years, and in honor of Jane’s memory, I was invited to design this heartfelt knitting pattern. By choosing to create this piece, you not only get to enjoy a beautiful project but also contribute to raising awareness about epilepsy and support ongoing research. Join us in making a difference through your craft!
This pattern not only serves as a lovely addition to your knitting collection but also carries a powerful message. Let’s knit with purpose!
