Gauge: Achieve the perfect fit with a gauge of 22 stitches and 26 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch, using the larger US 4 (3.5 mm) needles. Accurate gauge is essential for ensuring your hat will fit as intended.
