Gael Socks

Discover my favourite cable design that has inspired a range of cozy creations, including the Farrimond Cardigan, Farrimond Cushion, Craic Mittens, and Faremanne Cardigan. These beautifully crafted socks are designed with snugly comfort in mind, perfect for those cozy evenings at home. As I knitted this pattern, I envisioned slipping them onto my feet as I nestled into my favourite chair, indulging in my favourite snacks and streaming a captivating series. The rhythmic, soothing stitches on my needles kept me content, knowing that once the knitting was complete, I'd have a pair of lovely socks to keep my feet at the perfect temperature. This sock pattern is part of a special collection, one of eight unique designs I introduced at the Skipton Festival, Yarndale 2017. I also launched the Mohair Tweed that same year, which has unfortunately been discontinued. The yarn used for these socks is expertly spun in Donegal, adding a touch of Irish heritage to your knitting experience. In tribute to this rich cultural background, all the patterns from this collection are named using Irish words. For instance, 'Gael' (pronounced gale) refers to an Irish person or a Scottish highlander, capturing the essence of identity and connection to tradition.
