Gibbous Wrap
Introducing the Gibbous Wrap, a stunning bias-knit accessory that combines the elegance of garter stitch with enchanting crescent moon motifs at the edges. This versatile wrap showcases a captivating colorwork slip-stitch body, perfect for showcasing a beautiful flow of color. Whether you opt for a coordinated gradient set, a single solid color, or embrace the adventure of stash diving, this pattern encourages creativity in your yarn choices. Select any five contrast colors (CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, CC5) that harmonize with your main color (MC) for a truly unique finished piece.
Yardage requirements for the Gibbous Wrap are as follows: for the main color (MC), you'll need 400 yards, while each contrast color (CC1-CC5) requires 120 yards. In the sample, I used Whimsical Colors Silk Whimsy in the rich shade of Blackberry Night as the MC, complemented perfectly by Whimsical Colors' Leaves of Autumn Gradient Set for the five contrasting colors.
This wrap isn't just visually striking; it’s also customizable. To add extra flair, you'll need a total of 56 to 392 size 6 seed beads, depending on how many rows you would like to bead. You can embellish anywhere from one to seven rows at each edge, enhancing the Crescent Moon design. For my sample wrap, I chose Toho Permafinish Rose Taupe (PF556) beads, which beautifully accentuated the overall look.
The Gibbous Wrap is a fantastic project for knitters of all skill levels looking to expand their repertoire. With its blend of texture, color, and embellishment, this pattern promises to be a delightful addition to your collection. Explore your creativity and bring the Gibbous Wrap to life with your personalized color choices!
