Introducing my latest knitting pattern: a stylish and functional hat designed in collaboration with Warm the Line! This innovative hat is crafted by knitting in the round from the bottom up, making it a delightfully engaging project for knitters of all skill levels. The hat features eye-catching stripes accompanied by a fun textured pattern that adds depth and character to each color transition. Perfect for using up those extra bits of worsted weight yarn lingering in your stash, this hat not only keeps you warm but also supports a great cause during this voting season.

I created two sample versions of this hat to showcase the differences between non-superwash and superwash yarns, which is particularly helpful for those interested in charity knitting. When knitting for charitable organizations, opting for washable yarn can be a practical choice, ensuring that the recipients can easily care for their knitted items.

The non-superwash version of the hat was knit on size 3 needles using Blue Sky Fibers Woodstock Worsted. This version required only 37g of 'Driftwood' for the main color (MC). The contrasting colors (CC) included 5.5g each of 'Rusted Roof' (CC1), 'Thermal Spring' (CC2), and 'Midnight Sea' (CC3).

For the superwash version, I used size 4 needles with Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash, utilizing 47g of 'Jet' for the main color (MC). The contrasting colors in this version were sourced from Knit Picks: 7g of 'Copper' (CC1) in Swish, 7g of 'Pinecone Heather' (CC2) in Swish, and 7g of 'Brass Heather' (CC3) in Wool of the Andes Superwash.

This hat pattern not only provides an opportunity for knitters to play with color and texture but also serves a greater purpose in supporting Warm the Line. Plus, it makes for a thoughtful handmade gift for friends, family, or anyone in need of a cozy, warm accessory this season. Join me in spreading warmth and support through your knitting efforts!
