Gneiss

$8.09

This stylish sweater features a top-down design that's perfect for knitters looking to create a unique and cozy addition to their wardrobe. The construction begins at the collar, and once the piece is ready to be divided for the sleeves, the front and back are worked separately. This allows for the intricate two-color Intarsia pattern, which adds a beautiful dimension to the back of the sweater. After you complete the front and back sections, the sides are effortlessly sewn together, and the sleeves are then picked up and worked in the round for a seamless finish. When using hand-dyed yarn for this design, we highly recommend alternating between two balls simultaneously. This technique ensures a more uniform color distribution across your fabric, resulting in a polished and professional appearance.

Yarn Requirements: For this pattern, you'll need DK weight yarn. In the Main Color (MC), you’ll require approximately 440 (500, 580, 670, 770, 880) yards (404 (455, 530, 615, 705, 805) m), and for the Contrast Color (CC), about 565 (650, 745, 860, 985, 1135) yards (515 (595, 680, 785, 900, 1040) m). We recommend using La Bien Aimée Merino DK (100% superwash merino; 252 yards/230 m, 115g). For the sample shown, (MC) Ash is used in quantities of 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins, while (CC) Pom Pom requires 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 5) skeins. With its engaging design and detailed colorwork, this sweater pattern is not just a delightful challenge but also a rewarding project that will keep you warm and stylish all season long. Whether you're an experienced knitter or someone looking to level up your skills, this pattern is a must-try!
