To successfully knit this adorable toy, you will need to master a few essential techniques: – knitting in the round – simple increases and decreases – i-cord – and picking up stitches for an extra layer of safety, ensuring the toy is absolutely baby safe. While gauge is not overly critical for this project, it is advisable to use needles at least one size smaller than the yarn’s recommended size. This will prevent the fiberfill from being visible, which is particularly important if you are making a toy for a little one. For my geckos, I used DK cotton yarn with 2.5mm needles, resulting in a finished dimension of approximately 20 cm (8 in).
