Introducing "Grannie Annie," a beautifully designed traditional shawl that is knitted from the top down in an elegant semi-circle shape. This cozy and versatile shawl is all about texture, providing both warmth and style. Created using four stunning colors of rustic worsted weight yarn, "Grannie Annie" features one of the most beloved old Shetland patterns, the feather and fan stitch, paired with simple yet effective knit and purl stitches for added depth and visual interest.

"Grannie Annie" was crafted in an exciting collaboration with Laine-et-Tricot, combining classic knitting techniques with modern sensibility and flair.

Materials Needed: For this delightful project, you'll require Laine de Bretagne Origine 3 fils, which is composed of 100% Wool. Each skein offers 100g of yarn that stretches to approximately 284 yards (260 meters). You will need four different colors: about 160 yards (146 meters) of Color 1 yarn (C1), around 180 yards (165 meters) of Color 2 yarn (C2), approximately 270 yards (247 meters) of Color 3 yarn (C3), and about 210 yards (192 meters) of Color 4 yarn (C4). Ensure that all yarn meets the gauge requirements for a successful finish. Additionally, prepare the following tools: * US 6 [4 mm] 40" (100 cm) circular needle * 13 stitch markers * A tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge: The gauge for "Grannie Annie" is 16 stitches and 32 rows per 4” (10 cm) in the Main Pattern after blocking. While achieving this gauge is not strictly essential, please note that a different gauge may result in varying finished measurements and overall yardage required for the shawl.

Whether you're an experienced knitter or a passionate beginner, "Grannie Annie" is an engaging project that showcases your knitting skills while providing a cozy accessory for you or a loved one. Embrace this fantastic opportunity to create a stunning, textured shawl that pays homage to traditional Shetland patterns—great for layering during chilly adventures or simply enhancing your everyday outfits!
