Are you ready to knit the cutest little socks for your favorite tiny humans? Socks have become one of Hanna Lisa’s all-time favorite knitting projects, especially when it comes to baby and kid socks. These adorable little creations are not only quick to whip up, making them a rewarding project, but they are also guaranteed to bring smiles to both the knitters and recipients alike. Whether you're celebrating a new arrival in the family or looking for a charming gift for a friend's little one, these cozy socks are the perfect gift knit!

The Grow socks pattern offers three delightful variations to suit your knitting mood and style: a classic stockinette version that’s ideal for experimenting with vibrant colors and intricate patterns, a fun lace version for those who love a bit of texture and elegance, and a super cozy 2x2 ribbing version that enhances warmth and fit. These socks are perfect for using up mini-skein sets or repurposing leftover fingering weight yarn from your stash—making your knitting both fun and eco-friendly! Every variation is designed to start at the toe and features a magical German Short-Row heel, allowing you to create a personalized fit that hugs your little one’s feet just right.

Yarn

For best results, we recommend using Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co. Natural Sock yarn (composed of 50% Bluefaced Leicester and 50% Cheviot; providing 400 metres / 437 yards per 100 g). Each pattern size requires approximately 35 (40, 45, 50, 55) [55, 65, 70, 80, 85] metres or 40 (40, 50, 50, 60) [60, 70, 75, 85, 95] yards of yarn. The sample socks showcased are knit in beautiful hues of Undyed / Natural, Coral, Mustard, and Spindrift Modified, showcasing how versatile and vibrant your color choices can be!

It's important to note that Aurin, a model for this pattern, wears a size 5 sock with 2 cm / 0.75” of negative ease for added comfort. With the Grow socks pattern, you can create custom fit socks that are not only stylish and functional but also a labor of love. So grab your knitting needles, choose your favorite yarn, and start creating these adorable socks that will keep little feet warm and cozy!
