Hansel und Gretel Hoodies

Designed with love for my dear friend's adorable twins, a boy and a girl, who reside in beautiful Austria, these charming hoodies are meant to bridge the distance with cozy warmth and affection! I crafted these unique designs so that even though I’m too far away to cuddle them, they can still feel my love wrapped around them.

Gretel's sweater features delightful a-line shaping complemented by an exquisite lace hem, adding a touch of elegance to her outfit. The intricate stitch pattern for Gretel’s lace hem is both available in chart form and written out for your convenience! Meanwhile, Hansel's sweater is styled traditionally, showcasing a classic straight fit with a robust k5p5 checkerboard hem that gives it a masculine flair.

For this special knitting project, you will need both double-pointed needles (dpn's) and circular needles (circs) in size 9. Each hoodie is designed to keep little ones snug, requiring approximately 350 (400, 420) yards of the main color (mc) and an additional 100 yards of contrasting color (CC) for the intricate yoke detailing. In this design sample, I chose Plymouth’s Galway yarn in Bright Plum for Gretel’s vibrant sweater, and Royal Blue for Hansel’s striking outfit, with the yoke requiring 100 yards each in the lovely Paint 810 to create a stunning visual appeal.
