Finished Dimensions

This hat is available in three sizes to accommodate a variety of head circumferences: 18" (45.5 cm), 20" (51 cm), and 22" (56 cm). The length of the hat is 9.75" (25 cm), 10" (25.5 cm), or 10.25" (26 cm), depending on the size chosen. The sample shown in the images showcases the 20" / 51 cm size for a perfect fit.

Yarn Requirements

For this charming hat, we recommend using two colors of Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage (100% superwash Merino wool, 200 yds / 183 m per 100 g skein). The quantities needed are as follows:

Main Color: 115 (130, 145) yds / 105 (119, 132) m in the luxurious shade of Mineral (1 skein)

Contrasting Color: 30 (35, 40) yds / 27 (32, 36) m in the striking tone of Dirty Panther (1 skein)

Gauge Information

To ensure the perfect fit and beautiful colorwork, maintain a gauge of 24 stitches and 27 rounds = 4" / 10 cm in stranded colorwork using larger needles. Proper gauge is crucial for the finished hat to achieve its intended size and design.

Needles Required

You will need a 16" / 40 cm circular needle in the size needed to obtain gauge, along with one set of DPNs in the same size (we suggest US size 6 / 4 mm for both). Additionally, a second 16" / 40 cm circular needle two sizes smaller than the gauge-size needles (recommended size: US size 4 / 3.5 mm) will be necessary for the ribbing portion.
