YARN - Worsted Weight:
For this project, you'll need approximately 160 yards (146 m) of worsted weight yarn.
*Sample uses Yarn Bee Yarn ID, which is composed of 80% Acrylic and 20% Polyamide. This yarn has a total length of 252 yards (230 m) and weighs 142g, in the stunning colorway 'Pearl River'.
NEEDLES:
Use US size 7 (4.5 mm) needles with a 16" (41 cm) circular cord for the main body of the hat.
Feel free to select a needle size that matches your gauge best!
You will also need a longer cord length or double-pointed needles (DPNs) for completing the crown decreases.
GAUGE:
2x2 Rib - Worked in the Round:
15.5 stitches / 26.5 rounds = 4" (10 cm).
Note: I stretched the swatch a bit to achieve this gauge. If you find that you need to stretch it excessively, I recommend going up a needle size for better results.
SIZING:
The finished hat measures approximately 20.75" (52.5 cm) in circumference and 11.25" (28.5 cm) in length.
Note 1: Keep in mind that the circumference will fit more snugly than the measurement suggests, as we stretched the swatch during gauge testing.
Note 2: The length of the hat is fully customizable, allowing you to adjust it to your preferred style.
Whether you're embarking on your knitting journey or looking to create a thoughtful gift, the Huckleberry Hat will bring warmth and style to your winter wardrobe. Don’t forget to check out the video tutorial for step-by-step instructions. Happy knitting!
