Introducing the first design in our exciting sock knitting series that creatively utilizes a skein and mini set in innovative ways beyond just contrasting heels and toes. These stunning socks are inspired by the beauty of icicles and feature unique cable motifs of irregular lengths that add texture and visual interest. Materials:
- Size US 1/2.25 mm needles; Gauge: 9 sts/in, 13 rounds/in over stockinette OR
- Size US 1.5/2.5 mm needles; Gauge: 8.5 sts/in, 11 rounds/in over stockinette
- Light fingering weight yarn: approximately 230 (240, 250) yards of Main Color and 70 (80, 92) yards of Contrast Color. For our sample socks, we used Long Dog Yarn Bounce Sock in the beautiful shades of “Silver & Gold” for the Main Color and “Golden Glow” for the Contrast Color.
- 2 stitch markers
- A tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- A ruler or tape measure for accurate sizing
- A cable needle or the ability to cable without a cable needle
Sizes:
- Small: Designed for a 6.5” foot circumference using US 1/2.25 mm needles or for a 7” foot circumference using US 1.5/2.5 mm needles.
- Medium: Fits a 7.5” foot circumference with US 1/2.25 mm needles or an 8” foot circumference with US 1.5/2.5 mm needles.
- Large: Suitable for a 9” foot circumference using US 1/2.25 mm needles or a 9.5” foot circumference with US 1.5/2.5 mm needles.
