Ilaisa's Loose Toque

Free

This holiday season, I created a delightful gift for my older daughter’s teacher by knitting Myrrhia Resneck’s beautiful pattern, Ilaisa’s Wristies. These fingerless gloves are versatile, designed to work beautifully with a variety of yarn weights. I chose three balls of a lovely variegated worsted weight yarn to craft the wristwarmers, and once completed, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had nearly two full balls left over. With that yarn, I decided to design a matching hat that complements the wristwarmers. The hat features mostly stocking stitch and boasts a stylish brim crafted in bell ribbing, mirroring the design on the wristwarmers. While I initially aimed for a beret style, it didn’t quite slouch enough, resulting in a charming loose toque instead. This cozy accessory is not only functional but also makes for a perfect matching set with the Ilaisa’s Wristies. For those interested in exploring more about this lovely pattern and other knitting projects, Myrrhia Resneck’s official website, Myrrhialand, is a fantastic resource where you can find detailed instructions for Ilaisa’s Wristies and other creative knitting patterns.
