For the samples, we used Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Alpaca Blend yarn, which consists of 40% wool, 40% acrylic, and 20% alpaca blend, with each skein containing 115 yards (105 meters). Although this yarn has been discontinued, you can easily substitute it with another bulky wool or wool blend, such as Lion Brand Homespun or King Cole Merino Blend Chunky. Both alternatives will provide the same warmth and softness for your finished hat!
