Itsy Bitsy Houses
One of my favorite things to doodle is charming little houses, and I'm excited to share my creative journey of turning these whimsical doodles into delightful knitted pieces. Each knitted house is quick to make and serves as a fantastic project to utilize those odds and ends of yarn from your stash. This adorable pattern is ideal for knitters who love to add a personal touch, as the doors and windows can be easily embroidered using Swiss darning (duplicate stitch). Plus, I've included detailed charts of my designs for you to follow, or you can let your creativity shine by creating your very own unique decorations to personalize your knitted house.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these charming houses are crafted in cotton DK yarns using single pointed needles (not knitted in the round). This pattern is perfect for confident beginners and above, as it covers essential techniques including casting on and off, knitting, purling, decreases, and seaming to finish. The finished thatched cottage measures 6.5 cm wide x 5.5 cm tall x 4 cm deep, while the classic house measures 5.5 cm wide x 5.5 cm tall x 4 cm deep. Whether you're looking for a fun project to brighten up your home décor or a unique gift for a loved one, these little knitted houses are sure to bring joy and warmth.
