Introducing the 'Jacob Beanie,' inspired by the beloved ['Inga'][1] hat designed by Sheila Macdonald. This charming beanie is perfect for knitters looking for a shorter style with a delightful smaller pattern and a strategic series of decreases at the top. I crafted three unique versions using three distinct yarns, each resulting in a different aesthetic and feel. The first version, 'Jacob mark 1,' was made from my own handspun Jacob wool, giving it a personalized touch. The second iteration, 'Jacob mark 2,' showcases the luxurious Fiesta Ballet handpainted alpaca/tencel blend, which adds a soft and vibrant finish. Finally, 'Jacob mark 3' features a standard pure wool DK, completing the trio with a classic look. I hope you enjoy experimenting with these variations!

This unique hat design has been graciously donated to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) as part of the p/hop project—a wonderful initiative that encourages knitters to give back. The concept of p/hop, which stands for pennies per hour of pleasure, allows you to use this pattern freely and donate what you feel it was worth to you to support MSF's vital work. MSF is a renowned independent humanitarian medical aid organization dedicated to providing medical assistance wherever it is urgently needed, without discrimination based on race, religion, politics, or gender.

Currently, MSF operates in over 60 countries, delivering essential support to individuals affected by war, natural disasters, disease epidemics, and those lacking access to basic healthcare services. For more information about their incredible work or to contribute to this important cause, please visit their website. Happy knitting, and thank you for supporting a meaningful mission while enjoying this fun project!
