Joy Socks Ankle Version
Welcome to the delightful world of the Joy Socks – a charming ankle sock pattern lovingly designed and knitted during my memorable trip to India in January 2020. This was just a few days before the world faced a total lockdown due to the global pandemic. My husband and I returned home just 3 days ahead of the lockdown in Italy. Despite the unsettling events surrounding that time, this Joy Socks pattern continually brings me joy, happiness, and treasured memories of our wonderful adventure!
The Joy Socks are beautifully knitted from the top down and feature a traditional heel flap and gusset design, making them both stylish and practical. The accompanying lace pattern is effortlessly simple, meaning you won't need a chart to follow along. With just the written instructions, you'll be able to complete this knitting project quickly and easily, perfect for both novice and experienced knitters alike.
Yarn Requirements: To create your Joy Socks, you'll need 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Mechita, a luxurious superwash merino wool that provides the ideal balance of comfort and warmth. This beautiful yarn comes in 420 yards when in a 100-gram skein, and I particularly love the color 83 Water Green, which adds a refreshing touch to any outfit.
Needle Size: Use US size 0 (2 mm) 32” (80 cm) circular needles or any size that matches your gauge for optimal results. Remember, achieving the correct gauge is essential for ensuring your socks fit perfectly.

Happy Knitting and may the Joy Socks bring as much happiness to your hands as they did to mine!

Lilia
