Construction Notes
Discover the joy of crafting these fashionable socks, which are knit from the top down using a series of colorful stripes. You have the flexibility to either carry the yarn throughout or break it, weaving in the ends between each stripe. For stripes of five rows or fewer, I opted to carry the yarn, but for wider stripes, I recommend weaving in the ends, as carrying the yarn can sometimes create a slight faux seam. This is a great choice for knitters looking to maintain a cleaner finish.

The heel of these socks is a forked short row heel, which is crafted similarly to a traditional short row heel. However, instead of simply working down and then back up again, you’ll enjoy a unique twist where you work down, then up, then down again, followed by another upward motion. This innovative technique not only enhances the structure of the heel but also adds a bit more elasticity and fit—a perfect combination of style and comfort for your handmade socks!
