Kili Socks
Welcome to the Claire Ellen Sock Club! Introducing the second fabulous project, the Fraternal Pairs Fili (teal) & Kili (lime) socks. These unique, complementary sock patterns are designed specifically for both right and left feet, offering you a delightful "choose your own adventure" experience as part of the SKA challenge for the month of October, centered on crafting Fraternal pairs.
The Kili sock design incorporates an intriguing mix of right and wrong side cabling, along with twisted knits and purls. One of the standout features of this pattern is the cables without rest rows, making it an engaging project for knitters. Due to its slightly intricate nature, I recommend classifying this as an intermediate sock pattern. While it’s not overly complex, it will certainly challenge you a bit — so some prior experience with both cable knitting and sock creation will be beneficial!
For this project, the yarns showcased in the images are both Pediboo, a wonderful choice that is slightly thicker than your average sock yarn. However, don't worry if you prefer a different texture! This sock can be just as easily knitted with a finer yarn, giving you the flexibility to customize your project. Be sure to select a yarn and needle combination that produces a fabric you love, while also achieving the gauge specified in the pattern. Generally, I used one skein per sock, so if you’re looking to work with a single skein, aim for one that falls between 380-400 yards to ensure you have enough material for your beautiful Kili sock.
So grab your needles, pick your favorite yarn, and get ready to challenge yourself with this stylish and eye-catching Kili sock pattern from the Claire Ellen Sock Club. Don’t forget, mixing and matching with the Fili sock allows you to create one-of-a-kind pairs! Happy knitting!
