Knitwords Skirt
Are you proud to be a crafter? Show off your passion for knitting with a stunning statement piece that transitions seamlessly from crafting corner to everyday wear. Introducing our eye-catching knitted skirt pattern, designed to showcase your love for fiber arts—not just to fellow crafters but also to all the muggles out there. This skirt can be created in a variety of vibrant colors or simply in two of your favorite shades. The inspiration for this design was penned down on paper years ago, even before the release of the "Minnesota 52" book, but it finally came to life during my Rhinebeck trip with friends in 2019.
As the Persian poet Hafiz beautifully said, “The words you speak become the house you live in.” This sentiment resonates deeply with knitters, as every stitch we create helps to build our unique story.
This pattern features fully charted colorwork that is crafted upside down, allowing you to easily knit the message of your choice from the top of the words to the bottom. It’s an engaging and creative way to showcase your knitting skills while making a bold fashion statement.
Important Note: When choosing the size for your skirt, base your selection on your hip measurement for optimal fit. Be sure to also verify the waist sizes, as we incorporate elastic for added comfort and adjustability. For the best fit, take your widest measurement 7-10 inches below your waist. Additionally, measure your waist and multiply that number by six—this will give you the minimum cast-on number you should aim for.
Whether you are an experienced knitter or just starting out, this knitted skirt is an inspiring project that allows you to wear your craft with pride.
