La Paiva

$5.88

La Païva is the sixth design in our exquisite Courtesans shawl collection, inspired by the celebrated figures of the Parisian demi-monde. This elegant triangular shawl is not only a beautiful addition to any knitwear collection but also a testament to the lavish lifestyle of its namesake, Thérèse Lachmann, famously known as Madame Villoing, the Marquise de Païva, and later Countess Henkel von Donnersmark.

Known for her ruthless ambition and captivating beauty, Madame de Païva made waves in Paris, making her the most infamous figure among the courtesans of her time. In one intriguing memoir, she is depicted entering a starkly cold room, her bare arms glistening with jewels, likened to a mesmerizing mythological creature emerging from the icy north. This captivating image inspires the intricate designs of the La Païva shawl.

The La Païva shawl features a stunning triangular shape adorned with a sophisticated lace pattern that increases gracefully as you work from one side to the other.
