Laera Cardigan
Laera means learning, and it embodies the spirit of camaraderie shared among my fiber friends at our knit night group. These amazing women not only taught and encouraged me but also inspired me to embark on my journey as a knitter and designer. The Laera design is crafted with love and intention, knitting from the bottom up, featuring a wide lace hem along with coordinating lace details at the arms and neckline. This versatile piece is designed to be a delightful companion to the matching Laera top, making it a perfect addition to your handmade wardrobe.

Yarn: Use any fingering to sport weight yarn, requiring approximately 500 to 1000 yards. My sample, designed for a 44” chest, utilized 600 yards of luxurious yarn. This sample was beautifully crafted using an 80/20 merino/bamboo blend, hand-dyed by me to add a unique touch to your project.
Needles: For this pattern, you'll need a US #5/3.75mm circular needle, 32 inches or longer, along with the same size double-pointed needles (dpns) or additional circulars for knitting small circumferences, making it easier to achieve that perfect fit.
Gauge: To ensure the best results, aim for a gauge of 20 stitches and 28 rows per 4 inches in blocked stockinette stitch. Accurate gauge is crucial for a well-fitting garment that you'll cherish for years to come.
