Introducing Laera: A Cherished Knitting Pattern for Devoted Learners
Laera, meaning "learning," is a heartfelt tribute to my amazing fiber friends from my knit night group. These talented women played a crucial role in teaching and encouraging me, guiding me on my journey to become both a passionate knitter and an innovative designer. This enchanting design, Laera, is crafted from the bottom up and showcases a stunning wide lace hem complemented by matching lace details at the arms and neckline.
Finished Size:
- Chest: 32[36, 40, 44, 48, 52] inches
- Length: 13[13.5, 14, 14, 14.5, 15] inches from cast-on to underarm
Yarn Selection: Laera can be made with any fingering to sport weight yarn, with an estimated amount of approximately 500 to 1000 yards needed. For reference, my sample in size 44” required around 600 yards. This sample was lovingly knitted using an exquisite 80/20 merino/bamboo blend yarn, which I hand-dyed myself for a unique touch.
Recommended Needles: A US #5/3.75mm circular needle, measuring at least 32 inches or longer, is ideal for knitting the body of this delightful top. For larger sizes, you may find a longer needle more comfortable. Additionally, have your preferred method ready for knitting small circumferences in the round.
Alternatively, please select needles that allow you to achieve gauge.
Gauge Information: To ensure your knitting project flows smoothly, aim for a gauge of 20 stitches and 28 rows per 4” square in stockinette stitch.
