Leannan Jumper

Introducing the Leannan Jumper, a cozy and versatile knit design that I launched at Yarndale, the renowned Skipton annual yarn festival, in 2017. Since then, this charming jumper has become my go-to piece for every autumn and winter season! There's something magical about slipping into this soft, warm garment, whether I'm unwinding at home or enjoying a brisk walk during those chilly autumn afternoons when the sun still brings a touch of warmth.

One of my favorite features of the Leannan Jumper is the distinctive flat rib pattern. This unique ribbing technique allows for a seamless blend of relaxation and creativity. The design includes alternating rows—one that requires focused attention on a beautiful stitch pattern, followed by another that invites you to unwind with simple knitting. This means you can enjoy the meditative aspects of knitting while also crafting a stunning piece!

In creating the original Leannan Jumper, I chose a luxurious yarn spun in Donegal, Ireland, which inspired me to name all the patterns using beautiful Irish words. "Leannan," pronounced "Lan-awn," translates to "lover" or "perfection of our hearts," and this name reflects my deep affection for this particular design. The Leannan Jumper truly embodies what I consider to be my perfect knitwear piece!
