Leftovers Shawl

$5.00

Introducing our beautiful crescent-shaped shawl pattern, expertly designed for knitters looking to create stunning accessories while utilizing those little bits of leftover yarn that are too pretty to part with. Crafted in delightful fingering/sock weight yarn, this shawl offers a perfect opportunity to transform your yarn scraps into a wearable masterpiece.

For a truly unique look, one of our talented testers creatively used their 'leftovers' as the Main Colour (MC) and a crisp white for the Contrast Colour (CC), resulting in a striking visual appeal that sets this shawl apart. This inventive use of yarn not only highlights the variety of colors and textures in your stash but also provides a wonderful way to explore your creativity while knitting.

The pattern is knit in a cozy garter stitch and features short rows that skillfully shape the fabric into an elegant crescent form. This technique not only adds depth to the design but also enhances its drape, making it a perfect shawl for any occasion—be it casual outings or special events.

Yarn Requirements
For this project, you will need approximately 360 meters (395 yards) of sock or fingering weight yarn for the Main Colour. Additionally, gather 17 small bits of leftover sock or fingering weight yarn (Contrast Colours), weighing around 3-8 grams each. Please note that the weight is very approximate and largely depends on the specific type of yarn being used. In my personal shawl, approximately 350 yards of the main colour were utilized, and the contrast colours weighed between 1 to 6 grams each, allowing for great versatility in yarn selection.

Finished Measurements
The finished shawl boasts a generous wingspan of 117 cm (46 inches) and a center width of 35.5 cm (14 inches), making it an ideal piece to wrap around your shoulders for warmth and style.

This pattern is perfect for knitters of all skill levels, providing both an enjoyable knitting experience and a fabulous finished product. Embrace your creativity and give new life to your leftover yarn by knitting this exceptional shawl today!
