Introducing “Leizu,” a beautifully designed sweater pattern inspired by a chic ready-to-wear pullover spotted in an online shop. While that original sweater featured a heavy two-color brioche design, I aimed to create a similar aesthetic but with a lightweight feel. For this, Gorgeous Julie Asselin Leizu DK yarn was chosen, as it perfectly balances beauty and comfort, making it the ideal material for this stunning piece!

"Leizu" is a top-down, seamless sweater that combines elegance with modern knitting techniques. The design features both neckline and bottom back shaping with short rows, ensuring a flattering fit. Utilizing two striking colors, the pattern begins with the contrasting color to create depth and visual interest. The entire body and raglan sleeves are crafted in the main color using a smooth stockinette stitch, while wide ribbed panels accentuate the sides for a contemporary touch. Once the body and sleeves are completed, the contrasting color is reintroduced to finish the torso and sleeve ribbing—this is achieved through the innovative technique of corrugated ribbing, which provides a visual flair reminiscent of traditional brioche without the bulk.
