Alternatively, you can choose 150 yards of your favorite DK weight yarn. For knitting, have on hand a 16” Length circular knitting needle in size 8 (5 mm) or the size required to obtain gauge. You will also need a 16” Length circular knitting needle in size 6 (4 mm) and double pointed needles (dpn) in size 8 (5 mm) or the size necessary to meet the gauge. Don’t forget your stitch marker, 20(24) size 6 beads (MILL HILL #16221), a chenille needle size 22, and a small amount of yarn for the embroidery accents.

Gauge: Achieve the desired look by following this gauge: 22 stitches = 4” (10.2 cm); and 32 rows = 4” (10.2 cm) in Stockinette stitch. This will ensure your beret turns out just right!
